What you should know when you hire me as your photographer

I will, without a doubt, say “YESSS, SO CUTE!” way too many times.
I cannot resist from showing you the back of the camera. 
I will do whatever I have to do to make you feel comfortable and laugh. (I’m basically a triple threat.) I will ask you to do silly things that may make no sense to you….but trust the process. 😉 

I will demonstrate said goofy things for you. 
I will perfect your hair. I will direct you on what to do with your hands….feet, bodies, faces, everything.  
I will pour my heart into getting to know you, your fiancé, your family, etc. because I genuinely want to capture humans in their most pure form. 

And……I will trip over something during your shoot. 😉

My Story

This question comes up almost daily. "What got you into photography?" And the answer, while not always understood, is quite simple.

Photography is God's purpose for my life.

As a little girl, I didn’t always dream of being a photographer. I am nowhere near an artist with a pencil or paintbrush. (my stick figures are proof haha!) But when I have a camera in my hand and emotion in front of me, that…that is when I can create a masterpiece.

After a tragic end to what I thought was my lifetime career, I randomly picked up a camera. My heart was set on being a “Christian photographer where it’s not about the image but about my identity & who’s name I serve.” I wrote those exact words in my notes years before I even knew what ISO, shutter speed and aperture were.

Fast forward six years and here I am, living my dream. My photography business has been the absolute biggest blessing in my life. Something I never knew I needed. Through a lot of trenches in life, I have had this purpose to fulfill. A reason to get up, a passion that sets my soul on fire. 

Having the opportunity and privilege to serve people, to be a blessing, to capture 

humans in their most pure form, to provide people with a sense of confidence, and create images that can be passed down generation to generation is a gift I have no words for.

That is what is most important to know when hiring me – that I will be pouring my entire heart into getting to know you. Your photographer is the one vendor that is with you all.day.long. I’m there during your most intimate moments, the full-body laughs, yep…even the bathroom breaks!! Wherever you are – there I am. 

It is SO important to me that we click just like you and your maid of honor… I don’t even like referring to people as “clients” because we truly build a lifelong friendship. If photos are just “kind of” important to you – I am not the photographer for you. But if you are looking for a friend to be your eyes on your wedding day, to capture those candid in-between moments rather than work from a specific shot list – I’m your girl and we need to start getting to know each other like yesterday!

Some Sweet Sweet Words

Denise did our engagement and wedding photos. My (now) husband is very shy, hates having his picture taken, and usually only does things like pictures because I want them. We left our engagement session and he immediately talked about how much fun he had! Denise brought out his personality, made it extremely fun, and gave us beautiful pictures super quickly! I really can’t describe how helpful she was during the actual wedding because there aren’t enough words. We were never rushed to get pictures done, our family photos were done super quick, and she never skipped over small details in the pictures. I literally recommend her for everyone looking for any type of professional pictures.

I recently did a boudoir shoot with Denise and the entire experience was incredible! It was always something I wanted to do, but was always just a little timid to do. To begin, she set me up with an amazing makeup artist who made me feel more confident from the start. When we started the shoot she made me feel so comfortable that I hardly even realized I was posing for a camera with little to nothing on. She made me feel beautiful and confident and after seeing the photos it was the first time I've ever looked at a photo of myself and thought, "wow, I'm a beautiful woman!" Shes amazing and incredible at capturing you and making the entire experience unforgettable!

Denise is such an amazing photographer. The best in Arizona! She is soo easy to get along with and makes your session so comfortable. The outcome of her pictures are breath taking! She is the best person to capture your memories!

  1. I was born to be wild……but only until 9 pm.
  2. I was raised in a town that Google says has a population of 50 🙂 
  3. My dream elopement/wedding is in a hot air balloon in Turkey…or Greece..or New Mexico…….okay ANYTHING ANYWHERE in a hot air balloon – count me in!
  4. If I had a night off of work…you’d find me in bed, watching friends, eating chik fil a. (which actually rarely happens because I’m a health nut and am always working)
  5. I am DEATHLY afraid of snakes. (even on tv & stuffed animals!)
